Hyderabad FC have replaced the outgoing Spanish midfielder Edu Garcia with Mauritanian defensive midfielder Khassa Camara for the rest of the ISL 2021-22 season. Although not a like-for-like replacement, the signing adds depth to HFC with Edu Garcia departing abruptly due to urgent personal reasons.
The 31-year-old Edu Garcia is no stranger to the ISL. Previously, he has turned up for Bengaluru FC and ATK Mohun Bagan. Overall in five seasons in the ISL including the current one, he has featured in 58 matches in which he scored 14 goals and assisted 11. This current season in the league, he managed two goals and an assist from 11 appearances.
29-year-old defensive midfielder Khassa Camara has been associated with Northeast United FC over the last two seasons. He was replaced at NEUFC with Zakaria Diallo after Camara left the club to represent Mauritania in the African Cup of Nations. Overall in the ISL up until now, Khassa has played in 28 matches and has a goal and an assist to his credit.
