The Junior Boys National Football Championship for Dr. BC Roy Trophy was started in 1962. All affiliated State Associations of the AIFF are eligible to participate in this championship through the two tiers of the competition which is played across the country.
It was formerly held for the U-19 age group before being converted into an U-15 tournament from the 2023-24 edition.

Manipur claimed the Junior Boys NFC for the Dr BC Roy Trophy (Tier 1) 2025-26 title defeating defending champions West Bengal 3-0 in the final.
West Bengal won their 18th title at the Junior Boys NFC 2024-25 Tier 1 after defeating Odisha 2-0 in the final in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh.
Telangana beat Manipur in a penalty shootout in the final to be crowned champions of Tier 2 of the Junior Boys NFC 2024 held in Nagaon, Assam.
The draw of the Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the Junior Boys NFC 2024-25 and Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the Junior Girls NFC 2024-25 were conducted on June 26, 2024.
