The Junior Girls’ National Football Championship was first introduced in the year 2001. All affiliated State Associations of the AIFF are eligible to participate in this championship through the two tiers of the competition which is played across the country annually.
Since 2025, the U-19 tournament is also known as Dr. Talimeren Ao National Football Championship for Junior Girls.
