
Bengaluru FC have wrapped up the signing of East Bengal FC fullback Hira Mondal on a two-year contract.
From Kolkata, Mondal spent the early part of his career with various clubs based out of Kolkata – Calcutta Port Trust, Rainbow AC, Tollygunge Agragami and Peerless SC. He joined the East Bengal FC reserves in 2018 and won the GTA Governor’s Gold Cup with them.
The following year, he turned up for Mohammedan SC and was part of the MDSC side that won the I-League Qualifiers in 2020 and gained promotion to the I-League. In the 2020-21 I-League, Hira featured in 15 matches.
For the 2021-22 season, the left-back switched over to East Bengal FC and played in 16 matches in the ISL. The 25-year-old is the fifth signing BFC have made so far this season – Prabir Das, Javi Hernandez, Amrit Gope and Faisal Ali are the other arrivals.
