Tata Steel have transferred their ISL sporting licence and ownership of Jamshedpur FC to Churchill Brothers paving the way for the Goan club to compete in ISL 2026-27.
Churchill Brothers have been looking for different ways to get into the ISL following CAS’s decision to award the I-League 2024-25 title to Inter Kashi after AIFF had crowned them Champions at the end of the season. This led to Inter Kashi being promoted to the ISL.
Subsequently, Churchill Brothers withdrew from competing in the Indian Football League (IFL, formerly I-League) 2025-26 and are currently relegated to I-League 2 due to their non-participation in the second tier league.
It is being reported that Tata Steel sold their ownership stake to Churchill Brothers for a nominal 100 rupees. Churchill Brothers will also take over the contracts of 12 players and two coaches associated with JFC.
