Northeast United FC have completed their foreign signings for the season with the arrival of 24-year-old Australian defender Patrick Flottmann.
From St Leonards, a suburb in Sydney, Patrick was part of the youth setup at Sydney FC. He left Sydney FC in December 2018 due to lack of game time and joined Thai club Air Force United FC. After a year and a half, he moved back to Sydney FC on a two-year contract.
While he was on his second stint with the club, he was loaned out to Brisbane Roar following which he was released by the club in July 2021. Overall, Flottmann has made eight appearances in the A-League. The centre-back also represented Sydney FC in the AFC Champions League in 2020.
Patrick’s signing makes him the sixth foreign player at NEUFC ahead of the ISL 2021-22 season. He follows Spanish midfielder Hernán Santana, Jamaican forward Deshorn Brown, Martinican international Mathias Coureur, Mauritania midfielder Khassa Camara and Uruguayan playmaker Federico Gallego who has been retained by Northeast United FC.
