Bengaluru FC midfielder Xisco Hernandez joins Delhi Dynamos FC

Delhi Dynamos have announced the signing of 29-year-old Spanish attacking midfielder Xisco Hernández from Bengaluru FC for the upcoming ISL 2019-20 season.

Xisco was one of the key components in Bengaluru FC‘s title-winning ISL 2018-19 campaign.  In 20 appearances for the Blues, the Spaniard scored one goal and assisted five.

Hernández came through the youth system at Mallorca and made his senior team debut with Mallorca B, the reserve team of RCD Mallorca, in 2008. After three seasons at the club, he went on to play at a number of clubs in the Segunda División B, the third tier of the Spanish league system. He featured prominently for the Spanish club Atlético Baleares before joining Bengaluru FC for the 2018-19 season.

With Marcos Tebar retained for the upcoming season and the signing of former Barcelona B midfielder Diawandou Diagne, Xisco’s signing adds solidity in midfield and some much needed experience to a fledgling Delhi Dynamos side.

As a coach, I am so happy to have him in my squad. He’s a player who will bring a lot to us, both inside and outside the field.

He is a player who is familiar with India and more importantly, he has won the ISL

Josep Gombau, Head Coach, Delhi Dynamos FC

I am happy to be back in India after a successful first season outside Spain.

Coach Gombau has vested immense trust in me and I am very sure that I will be able to deliver as per his expectations.

Delhi has a very young squad and I see a lot of potential in the team. Once again, really happy to join Delhi Dynamos and I can’t wait to roar.

Xisco Hernández
