ATK have signed 6’5 centre-forward Eli Babalj to replace Emiliano Alfaro. Eli Bablj has spent most of his career at A-League clubs Melbourne Heart and Adelaide United. Eli is of Serbian descent and has represented Austraila at both youth and senior levels.
Eli will take over from Emiliano Alfaro who was signed to replace the injured Kalu Uche. Unfortunately, Alfaro ruptured his Achilles tendon in training before he could make an appearance for ATK this season.
ATK have been struggling for goals with Balwant Singh contributing a solitary goal from seven appearances. Everton Santos hasn’t scored a goal yet and midfielders and defenders have tended to be on the scoresheet for ATK this season.
It remains to be seen if Eli Babalj can provide goals for ATK – the forward’s goal-scoring record is not something you would call prolific.
