MATCH PREVIEW
–Jamshedpur will be taking on ATK in their first home fixture this ISL season. Jamshedpur’s coach from last season Steve Coppell is now managing ATK. Here’s what he had to say at the pre-match presser: “It’s great to be back. I am very proud of what we did last year, even though we did not make the playoffs. It was a great achievement for a new franchise and I look forward to the game tomorrow.”
-After their impressive win against Mumbai and a commendable draw against Bengaluru, Jamshedpur will be confident of their new possession style of football under manager and former Atletico Madrid coach Cesar Ferrando. The signings this season – Mario Arqués, Sergio Cidoncha and Pablo Morgado have all looked very promising.
-After two losses at home, ATK have finally hit some sort of form with their win in the away fixture against Delhi Dynamos. This was a good win for ATK coming into this fixture as their away form often suffered last season. New signing Noussair El Maimouni, Lanzarote and Kalu Uche looked good in their attacking play. In defence, John Johnson and Gerson still seem to be finding their way into the new system.
-The match atmosphere at ‘The Furnace’ will be something to look forward to as all tickets have been sold out for the fixture at the JRD Tata Sports Complex Stadium. The stadium can accommodate 24,000 people.

TALKING POINTS
-The jury is out on Tim Cahill. Didn’t influence the game in any way. He never reallly dropped deep or made runs behind the defence for a through ball to be threaded through. Jerry couldn’t really provide him the crosses to use his heading ability; so, all in all, he was a passenger who happened to be on the Jamshedpur team bus today.
-Jamshedpur had 17 shots on goal and had 66% possession, but very few shots on target. They dominated the first half and if they had more composure, they could’ve had more goals.
-Goalkeeping errors resulted in both the goals. Cidoncha’s low free-kick bounced in front of ATK keeper Bhattacharya and went into the goal. Jamshedpur on the other hand conceded a goal from a cross by M. Lanzarote. Subhashish Roy tried to tip the ball over from Lanzarote’s cross, but the ball ended up in his net.
-The second half was rather drab with no team taking the initiative to look for three points.
