Former Odisha FC winger Nandha Kumar Sekar has joined East Bengal FC on a three-year contract.
The 27-year-old Chennai-based player turned up for Hindustan Eagles during his formative years. He was scouted out by Chennai City FC and moved to the club in January of 2017. He made his I-League debut against Shillong Lajong in February, 2017.
For the 2017-18 season, he was loaned out to Delhi Dynamos in the ISL and in the January transfer window, he made the deal permanent.
Ahead of the 2019-20 season when the Delhi Dynamos franchise relocated to Bhubaneswar, Odisha as Odisha FC, Nandha was retained.
In six seasons of ISL, Nandhakumar has made 82 appearances in which he has scored 10 goals and assisted 11.
Last season was a breakout season for Sekar with six goals and an assist from 20 matches helping the club to a playoff finish for the first time since their inception. Further, Odisha FC went onto win the Hero Super Cup 2023 and Nandha contributed with four goals.
His performances earned him a call-up to the national team in the ongoing Hero Intercontinental Cup 2023.

I scored my first goal in professional football against East Bengal while playing for Chennai City FC in 2017.
Now, as I have gotten a chance to represent this historic club, I want to give my best and help my team reach new heights.
