East Bengal FC have appointed former Bengaluru FC manager Carles Cuadrat as the new head coach on a two-year contract. The 54-year-old Spaniard replaces Englishman Stephen Constantine who has left the club following the conclusion of the Hero Super Cup.
Under Cuadrat, BFC finished top of the league in the 2018-19 season and won the ISL Championship as well the same year. Cuadrat had joined the club in 2016 as assistant to Albert Roca and took over as head coach in 2018. Prior to his stint with Bengaluru FC, the Barcelona-born Carles had worked as an assistant coach for the Saudi Arabian and El Salvador national teams.

After leaving Bengaluru FC in January 2021 following a poor run of results, Carles served as Assistant Manager at Cyprus-based Aris Limassol and for Danish club FC Midtjylland. He now joins EBFC as the Red & Gold Brigade look to overturn their dismal run of form since their arrival into the ISL. Over the last three seasons, they’ve finished 9th, 11th and 9th in the league.
Former Bengaluru FC midfielder Dimas Delgado will join Carles Cuadrat as his deputy at East Bengal FC.
