Gokulam Kerala FC have announced the appointment of Spanish manager Francesc Bonet to replace the outgoing Head Coach Richard Towa.
The Cameroonian-German coach Richard Towa was brought into manage Gokulam Kerala FC in July of 2022. He replaced Vincenzo Alberto Annese who won the club back-to-back I-League titles and has recently taken over the manager role at Northeast United FC. Although the team was adrift from the top of the current league table by only four points, the likely reason for Towa’s departure is reported to be lack of goals with the Malabarians scoring only seven goals from the nine matches they’ve played so far.
Fran Bonet is no stranger to India having managed Rajasthan United FC in the I-League last season. He led the team to a sixth-placed finish.
The 29-year-old Bonet is a UEFA Pro Licence holder and has previously held coaching roles at FC Martinenc, CE L’Hospitalet, CF Almogavers and at the Barca Academy in Spain.
