Bengaluru FC have signed 29-year-old Spanish attacking midfielder Pablo Pérez for the remainder of the 2022-23 season. The Spaniard has been brought onboard in place of Prince Ibara who has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury. Pérez most recently turned up for Sporting Gijón in La Liga 2.
Born in the city of Gijón, Pablo spent his formative years at the Colegio de la Inmaculada following which he joined the youth setup at Sporting de Gijón in 2011 at the age of 17. After a spell with the reserves, he transitioned to the senior team in 2014.
Barring a spell out on loan to AD Alcorcón, Pablo spent all of his career with Sporting Gijón turning up for the club in the third, second and first tiers of club football in Spain. He played in the top tier La Liga in the 2015-16 season.
Overall, the 6’2″ attacking midfielder has made 285 appearances in Spanish cup and league competitions in which he scored 26 goals and assisted 10.
I’m really glad to sign for Bengaluru FC and I’m looking forward to the season ahead.
My discussions with the coach and few others who are aware of the club and the League were very positive. I’m eager to start training and be able to contribute to the team’s efforts this season.
I want to work hard and try my best to help this team reach the playoffs.
