Chennaiyin FC have signed Kerala Blasters‘ winger Prasanth K on a one-year contract ahead of the new season. The 25-year-old Kozhikode-based midfielder spent most of his senior career with Kerala Blasters accumulating 61 appearances in five seasons in which he scored one goal and assisted three.

During his formative years, Prasanth Karuthadathkuni was selected to be part of Kerala’s U-14 side in 2010 following which he was picked up to be part of the AIFF Regional Academy in 2012. He also spent a brief period at the academy of Pune-based DSK Shivajians and has also represented India at U-17 and U-20 level.

In 2016, Kerala Blasters brought Prasanth onboard from the AIFF Elite Academy. He was sent out on loan to Chennai City FC in the I-League and he made 10 appearances in the 2016-17 season.

After his return from CCFC, the 5’10” right winger was part of the Kerala Blasters’ ISL squad over the next five seasons. He was part of the Blasters’ team that finished runners-up in the ISL last season.
