Jamshedpur FC have brought onboard former Chennaiyin FC midfielder Germanpreet Singh on a two-year contract ahead of the new season.
From Punjab, Singh was part of the AIFF Elite Academy during his formative years. He signed his first professional contract with Dempo SC and played in the 2014-15 I-League. After Dempo SC got relegated, he turned up for the club in the 2nd Division League and helped them win promotion. His next move was to Minerva Punjab FC on a three-year contract.
Ahead of the 2017-18 ISL, Germanpreet switched to Chennaiyin FC and has been part of their squad for the last five seasons. He won the ISL in his first season with the club and overall has made a total of 55 appearances with a return of one goal and three assists. He also represented the club in the AFC Cup competition.
The 26-year-old strong, physical midfielder has represented India at youth level and has been capped eight times for the senior team having made his debut in 2016.
