ATK Mohun Bagan have announced the signing of Chennaiyin FC goalkeeper Vishal Kaith on a three-year contract ahead of the new season.



From the Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh, Kaith was spotted by the Himachal Pradesh FA and he impressed at sub-junior and junior levels for the state team. Eventually, he was recruited by the AIFF Elite Academy and was part of the academy between the years 2011 and 2014.

In July 2014, Shillong Lajong signed the young goalkeeper. Kaith went on to make 34 appearances in three seasons in the I-League and he was also loaned out to the ISL side FC Pune City in 2016.

FC Pune City signed the 6’2″ goalkeeper on a permanent basis ahead of the 2017-18 Indian Super League. In his first season with the club, he managed seven clean sheets in 17 appearances and helped Pune City reach the play-offs.

After another season at Pune, Vishal moved to Chennaiyin FC and has featured in the last three editions of the ISL with the club.

Overall in the ISL, the 25-year old has played in 70 matches in which he kept 19 clean sheets and conceded 98 goals. Kaith has represented the Indian national team and won the SAFF Championship 2021.
