On loan at Mumbai City FC from Chennaiyin FC last season, Lallianzuala Chhangte has moved permanently to MCFC on a three-year contract. The 25-year-old winger made a total of 19 appearances in the ISL 2021-22 (12 for CFC; 7 for MCFC) and featured in all six matches in Mumbai City FC’s AFC Champions League campaign.

From the town of Lunglei in Mizoram, Chhangte was scouted out by DSK Shivajians in 2014. In the 2014-15 U-19 I-League season, he emerged as the top scorer in the league with 16 goals for DSK and helped them qualify for the final round. After another season in the youth leagues, he was sent out on loan to Northeast United FC as part of the ISL draft where he made a solitary appearance in the 2016 ISL.

Upon his return to DSK, he made his debut in the I-League 2016-17 and featured in 17 matches during the course of the season. Then in 2017, Chhangte switched over to ISL side Delhi Dynamos and played a couple of seasons in the ISL following which he switched over to Chennaiyin FC where he spent the better part of three seasons before his loan move to Mumbai City FC in January 2022.

Overall in the ISL, Chhangte has made 97 matches in which he scored 20 goals and assisted six. Lallianzuala made his Indian national team debut in 2015 and has been capped 17 times so far.
