Australian defender Brendan Hamill signs with ATK Mohun Bagan

ATK Mohun Bagan have signed A-League defender and AFC Champions League 2013-14 winner Brendan Hamill on a two-year contract. The 29-year-old centre-back is expected to replace Tiri who is out of action due to an ACL injury.



From Sydney, Hamill spent his formative years at semi-professional clubs in and around Sydney. He also represented Australia at various youth age group levels between the years 2007 and 2012.

In 2010, Brendan signed his first professional contract with Melbourne Heart (now Melbourne City FC) and played in the A-League for a couple of seasons. Then in 2012, he switched over to K-League side Seongnam FC and a season later turned up for another Korean club on loan.

2014 marked the return of Hamill to the A-League – this time he joined the Western Sydney Wanderers and won the 2014 AFC Champions League with the club.

From 2019 to 2021, Brendan turned up for A-League side Western United FC and last season he was with Melbourne Victory FC – from where he joins ATK Mohun Bagan.

Overall, the 6′ 1″ defender, has played in 154 A-League matches and has also featured in the AFC Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Last season in the 2021-22 A-League, he made 19 appearances for Melbourne Victory.
