Odisha FC have wrapped up the signing of Australian defensive midfielder/centre-back Osama Malik on a season-long deal.
From Adelaide, Malik spent his formative years at various clubs in and around Adelaide. He spent the bulk of his senior career at A-League clubs Adelaide United, Melbourne City and Perth Glory. Osama won the Australian league with Adelaide United in 2015-16. Overall in the A-League, Ozzie had made over 200 appearances and has also played in the AFC Champions League and the Club World Cup. He also had a brief spell playing in the Saudi Professional League with Al-Batin FC.
The now 31-year-old was most recently at Perth Glory FC and made nine appearances in the 2021-22 A-League. His signing fulfils Odisha FC’s mandatory Asian signing squad requirement.
