
ATK Mohun Bagan have wrapped up the signings of Bengaluru FC winger Ashique Kuruniyan and Hyderabad FC fullback Asish Rai.
Ashique Kuruniyan
-The 25-year-old Malappuram-based winger made 13 appearances for Bengaluru FC in the 2021-22 ISL season.
-Usually a winger, Ashique mostly played as a left-back for BFC.
-Spent part of his youth career and his initial ISL career with FC Pune City from where he joined Bengaluru FC in 2019-20.
-In October 2016, the winger was sent out on loan to Spanish club Villarreal “C,” but his spell was cut short due to a hamstring injury.
-Represented India at various youth levels and made his senior national team debut in June 2018 against Chinese Taipei. Has been capped 25 times for India.
-Has featured in 65 ISL matches in five seasons and has contributed five goals and five assists.
-Ashique has reportedly signed a five-year contract with ATK Mohun Bagan.
Asish Rai
-The 23-year-old right back from Pakyong, Sikkim, made 16 appearances for Hyderabad FC in their 2021-22 ISL Championship winning campaign.
-Asish was part of the youth setup at Pune FC and FC Pune City during his formative years; played in the 2nd Division League for FC Pune City in 2018.
-During his time at FC Pune City, he was loaned out to Indian Arrows in the I-League for a couple of seasons.
-Was retained by newly-minted Hyderabad FC after FC Pune City franchise was bought over by HFC owners.
-Has spent three seasons in the ISL with HFC; Featured in 48 matches and has six assists to his name.
-Rai has represented India at the U-20 and U-23 level.
