ISL side Chennaiyin FC have brought onboard Rajasthan United FC defender Gurmukh Singh on a two-year contract.
From Jalandhar, the 23-year-old centre-back spent part of his youth career at East Bengal FC. His first breakthrough with a club at a senior level came with Himachal Pradesh-based Techtro Swades United in 2020. A couple of months later, he joined Minerva Academy followed by a stint at Garhwal FC.
Singh then switched over to Rajasthan United FC in September 2021 and played in the I-League Qualifiers (2nd Division League). RUFC would go on to secure promotion to the I-League by winning the I-League qualifier tournament.
The following season, Gurmukh featured heavily for Rajasthan United in the I-League (2021-22, 15 appearances).
Singh’s arrival marks the second signing in the defensive department for Chennaiyin FC. CFC signed West Bengal captain Monotosh Chakladar a few days ago.
