
Odisha FC have signed Indian international and winger Michael Soosairaj on a two-year contract from ATK Mohun Bagan.
Michael hails from the coastal village of Eraviputhenthurai in Tamil Nadu. His brother Michael Regin is also a professional footballer. He moved to Chennai to study at MCC and started his fledgling career with St. Catherine FC. Michael’s club career began with Arrows FC who compete in the CFA Senior Division. He then went onto join CFA club Chennai City FC and would play in the I-League after CCFC obtained direct entry in 2016.
In 2018, Soosairaj made his ISL debut with Jamshedpur FC. A season later, he signed a five-year contract with ATK Mohun Bagan. He featured heavily for ATKMB in his first year with the club (2019-20), but the last two seasons saw him make only six appearances with an ACL injury keeping him out of action for an extended period of time.
Overall in the ISL, the 27-year-old featured in 40 matches in which he scored seven goals. Micheal won the ISL with ATK Mohun Bagan in his first season with the club. He made his national team debut in 2019 against Curacao.
After completing his medical at ABTP (Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance), Michael penned a two-year contract with Odisha FC.
