Odisha FC have signed former Kerala Blasters fullback Lalruatthara on a two-year deal with an option to extend by another year.

The 26-year old defender from Mizoram was part of Chandigarh Football Academy briefly during his formative years before joining Aizawl-based Luangmual FC’s youth team in 2012. The following year he joined Chanmari FC and won the Mizoram Premier League 2013-14 with the club. In 2014, he helped Mizoram win the Santosh Trophy and joined Mizoram powerhouses Aizawl FC soon after.

Over the next couple of years, he represented Aizawl FC in the I-League and was a vital component of their league winning side in the 2016-17 season. In 2017, he was part of the ISL draft – and was picked up by Kerala Blasters. In his very first season with the club, he won the ‘Emerging Player of the Season’ award.

Over the last four seasons with the Blasters, Lalruatthara has featured in 37 matches. However, he found game time hard to come by last season with only five appearances to his credit.

The left back has represented the U-23 Indian National Team and has two caps for the senior national team having made his debut in 2018.
