Kerala Blasters have announced the signing of 20-year-old Manipuri defender Hormipam Ruivah on a three-year deal.

From Somdal, Manipur, Ruivah spent his formative years with SAI Academy in Imphal before switching over to the Minerva Punjab Academy who he helped lift the 2018-19 Hero Elite League. During this period, Hormipam was also part of the Indian team that won the SAFF U-18 Championship held in Nepal in 2019.

Ruivah was sent out on loan to Indian Arrows for the 2019-20 season and made 14 appearances for the the AIFF Developmental side in the I-League. Last season, he returned to Punjab FC and notched up 14 appearances for the club in the 2020-21 I-League.

I am excited to join and continue my football journey with Kerala Blasters FC. I have heard a lot about their fan base and always wanted to be part of the team.

I promise to strive harder and want to do the best for the Yellow Army in the future.

I am eagerly waiting to begin my training with the team.
