Chennai City FC have appointed former assistant coach Satyasagara as the new head coach for the upcoming season of the I-League.
With 26 years of experience in coaching, Satyasagara was formerly the assistant coach under outgoing Singaporean coach Akbar Nawas. Nawas lead Chennai City FC to the I-League title in the 2018-19 season. The following season, Chennai City FC finished up in seventh place after the league was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Akbar left the club earlier this year in October.
I am delighted for the new opportunity that has come my way.
As everyone knows I was working with Akbar Nawas and I am familiar with the CCFC culture and setup.
I am also excited to work with young local talents. The local talent in Tamil Nadu has always excited me and I am waiting to see what is in store for us this year.
