Jamshedpur FC have announced the signing of 28-year-old Australian winger Nicholas Fitzgerald ahead of the 2020-21 ISL season.

From Sydney, Fitzgerald’s first big break came with A-League side Central Coast Mariners who signed him for their academy in 2009. He made his senior team debut against Wellington Phoenix in the 2009-10 A-League season.

Soon after his debut, Nick went out on loan to a couple of lower division clubs following which he signed with Brisbane Roar in 2011. He won the A-League Championship with Brisbane in the 2011-12 season. In January of 2013, Fitzgerald re-joined Central Coast Mariners and this time around won the A-League Championship with them.

The predominantly right winger was released by CCM in 2016 and over the next few years turned up for Melbourne City FC, Western City Wanderers and more recently Newcastle Jets – from where he joins Jamshedpur FC.

Over the course of his career which includes appearances in the AFC Champions League, Fitzgerald has featured in 206 matches in which he scored 20 goals and assisted 15.

I am really glad to start this new adventure with Jamshedpur FC. I promise to give my best to the club and play my heart out for the fans.

I am looking forward to play under the tutelage of a coach like Owen Coyle’s calibre, something every player dreams of.

We will give our best shot to get the team to win the ISL trophy.
