SC East Bengal have brought on-board 27-year-old Welsh forward Aaron Amadi-Holloway for the upcoming season of the ISL. Before joining the Red & Gold Brigade, Aaron turned up for A-League side Brisbane Roar which was current East Bengal manager Robbie Fowler’s previous coaching engagement.

From Cardiff, Wales, Aaron spent his formative years at local club Cardiff City FC’s youth academy. He turned pro with Bristol City and over the next few years played for a number of clubs in the third and fourth tier of the English football pyramid. Some of the clubs he turned up for are Shrewsbury Town, Oldham Athletic, Fleetwood Town and Wycombe Wanderers among others.

Last season, Amadi-Holloway featured for A-League side Brisbane Roar FC under Robbie Fowler and was frequently used as a substitute. In 22 appearances in the A-League, he scored a solitary goal and assisted one.

His past record in England is not exactly prolific either. In nearly 200 appearances in the lower tiers of English football and cup competitions, he has scored only 19 goals.

Aaron joins SC East Bengal on a free transfer and has signed a one-year contract with the club. His signing follows that of his former teammate at Brisbane Roar – Scott Neville who has joined the Kolkata-based club on loan.
