Hyderabad FC have signed A-League forward Joel Chianese on a one-year deal from Perth Glory FC ahead of ISL 7.

Born in Sydney, Joel spent his developmental years in football at Sydney FC between the years 2008 and 2011 and was part of the U-21 side. He transitioned to the senior team in 2011 and made his A-League debut in the 2011-12 season. In three league seasons with the club, Joel scored 11 goals in 40 matches.

In 2015, Chianese signed for Malaysian second-tier club Sabah FA and a season later moved to another second-tier club Negeri Sembilan FA.

Then in 2016, the winger/forward joined Perth Glory FC and in four seasons of football up until the 2019-20 season scored 14 goals from 87 matches in the A-League.

The 30-year-old has also played in the premier Asian club competition – the AFC Champions League with both Sydney FC and Perth Glory.

Hopefully my previous experience of playing in Asia can help me embrace the culture on and off the field, which helps ensure that I enjoy my football and help the team create success.

The current world situation means we may not have fans at the games, but we need to work hard as a group to give the fans watching from home something to be excited about.
