Former Sporting Clube de Goa and Mumbai City FC goalkeeper Ravi Kumar has signed a two-year deal with Odisha FC.
Born in Uttar Pradesh, Ravi spent his formative years at the Tata Football Academy before making the transition in 2010 to Pailan/Indian Arrows. The AIFF XI as the Arrows were also called back then were competing in the I-League.
After the Pailan Arrows folded in late 2013 due to financial issues, Kumar moved to another I-League side – Sporting Clube de Goa. He featured heavily for the Goan club in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 I-League seasons.
During his stint at Sporting, Ravi was loaned out to Delhi Dynamos (ISL draft) and Minerva Punjab FC. He also went out on loan to Northeast United FC in 2018 following which he joined Mumbai City FC on a permanent deal.
The 26-year old joins Odisha FC from the Islanders on a two year deal and is expected to compete with Arshdeep Singh for the goalkeeping position.
I am excited to be joining Odisha FC and I hope I can help the club compete for titles & trophies and hopefully play in AFC very soon.
Looking forward to joining Ama Team.
Ravi Kumar
