Odisha FC have wrapped up the signing of 26-year-old Sporting Clube de Goa fullback George D’Souza on a two-year contract ahead of the 2020-21 ISL season.
Hailing from Goa, George was at the Sesa Football Academy before finding his way to current Goa Pro League leaders Sporting Clube de Goa. He featured in all 20 games the club played this season in the Goa Professional League contributing with four goals and three assists.
The left fullback possesses a strong left foot and is adept at taking free kicks as well.
D’Souza will have stiff competition when he arrives in Odisha with Indian international Narayan Das making the left fullback position his own – Das featured in all 18 matches Odisha FC played in the 2019-20 ISL.
I am extremely delighted to sign the contract with Odisha FC and am looking forward to playing in the Indian Super League.
It’s a good promotion for me and playing for OFC will be a great experience as well.
I am also hopeful that I can add a lot of value to the team in the upcoming season.
