UPDATE, 22nd July 2020
Kerala Blasters have secured the signing of Bengaluru FC fullback Nishu Kumar on a four-year deal. The deal is reportedly worth five crore rupees over a span of four years and at 1.25 crores a year makes Nishu the highest paid Indian defender.
The owner of Bengaluru FC – Parth Jindal confirmed in a chat with the BFC fan group West Block Blues that Nishu Kumar completed his move to Kerala Blasters.
In my opinion, Nishu is the best young player at Bengaluru FC. We tried to keep Nishu here, but we couldn’t. He received an incredible offer from Kerala Blasters, and in spite of our best efforts, he decided to move on.

Over the years, the fullback who can play on either side of the pitch proved himself to be a reliable and consistent performer. Nishu has notched up 40 appearances in the ISL and featured in the AFC Cup competition as well. Last season in the ISL, he featured in 18 matches for the Blues.
