
The I-League champions Chennai City FC have signed 29-year-old Spanish winger Adolfo Miranda Araujo on a two-year-deal for the upcoming season.
“Fito” as the moniker goes was part of the academy at CE Júpiter, a football club based in Barcelona. After making his debut for the senior team in the 2007-08 season, the winger moved to CE Sabadell FC – a club which currently competes in the third tier of the Spanish league.
After five seasons at Sabadell, Araujo turned up for a number clubs in the Segunda División B (third tier) and he joins Chennai City FC from FC Cartagena.
Apart from the 20 appearances in La Liga 2 with Sabadell, Fito has made 148 appearances in the Segunda División B and scored 27 goals.
