
Northeast United FC have announced the signing of 34-year-old Argentinian forward Maximiliano Barreiro for the upcoming ISL season.
Maximiliano spent his formative years at Atlético Independiente’s academy; the club is considered one of Argentina’s Big Five Clubs.
Since turning professional, the centre-forward has played for more than a dozen clubs in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Uruguay. He has been most prolific in the Ecuadorian first tier with 137 appearances yielding 56 goals. Barreiro in the Argentinian second tier – the Primera Nacional has 16 goals and eight assists in 75 appearances.
Barreiro joins Northeast United FC from Ecuadorian club S.D. Aucas.
