FC Goa have announced the signing of 23-year-old Shillong Lajong defender Aibanbha Dohling on a two-year deal for the upcoming Indian Super League season.

Born in Sohra, Meghalaya, Dohling came up the ranks at Shillong Lajong before moving to the Tata Football Academy in 2012. His four-year stint at Tata FA saw him play in the Hero Elite League and several other youth level tournaments. Aibanbha has also represented Jharkhand in the Santosh Trophy.

Aibanbha rejoined Shillong Lajong in January of 2016 and made his debut in the I-League against Mohun Bagan.

Last year was a breakout season for the defender. With Lajong deciding to field an all-Indian team in the 2018-19 I-League, Dohling featured 19 times for the Reds out of the 20 matches they played in the league.

A self-professed ball-playing defender, Dohling should fit right in with FC Goa’s ethos/philosophy.

I am very pleased to have joined FC Goa because I love their style of play and I think I can make a contribution with the way that I like to pass and play with the ball.

It is a big reason as to why I chose FC Goa as the team to join.

After spending an incredible five seasons at Lajong (2010-2012 | 2016-2019) Aibanbha Kupar Dohling is all set to embark on a new journey.

This young lad from Cherrapunji, Meghalaya is special and we believe he will achieve great success in his new Club and make every football loving Meghalayan proud of him.

Thank you for all the wonderful memories Aiban and we wish you the best always.
