Kerala Blasters have signed Calicut-born goalkeeper Shibinraj Kunniyil from Gokulam Kerala FC for the upcoming ISL 2019-20 season.
The 26-year-old spent his formative years at SAI Thiruvanthapuram and has represented Kerala in the BC Roy Trophy held in Kolkata. In the year 2011, Shibin joined the Indian Air Force and was subsequently part of the Services team which lifted the Santosh Trophy.
Shibin joined Mohun Bagan for the 2017-18 I-League season and has made three appearances for the Kolkata club. In 2018, he joined Gokulam Kerala FC and made 10 appearances for the Malabarians in the recently concluded 2018-19 I-League.
Being a Keralite, it is an amazing feeling to be part of Kerala Blasters.
However, this is only the beginning. I’m sure the level of competition in the team is high, and I promise to give in my best to better my skills and thereby bring forth success to the team.
Looking forward to a wonderful season ahead.Shibinraj Kunniyil
