East Bengal FC have announced the signing of 32-year-old Spanish defender Martí Crespí from Delhi Dynamos on a free transfer.

Crespí hails from the island of Majorca and he spent his formative years at the youth academy of the local club, RCD Mallorca. He made his debut with the senior team in 2007 before going out on loan to Segunda División (Spanish 2nd tier) clubs Granada 74, Xerez and Elche CF.

The Spaniard had a brief stint with Racing Santander and Sabadell FC (2013-15) before heading east to the China League One (2nd tier in China) with Qingdao Huanghai and Nei Mongol Zhongyou.

He joined Delhi Dynamos last season for the ISL 2018-19 campaign and has made 15 appearances in the league and three appearances in the knockout tournament, the Super Cup.

Although Delhi Dynamos had a season to forget last season, Crespí has looked comfortable in the ISL and East Bengal have brought onboard a defender who has plenty of experience and an eye for goal.
