After signing Roy Krishna a few days ago, ATK went back in and plucked out his teammate David Williams from the A-League side, Wellington Phoenix.
The pair have scored 29 of the 46 goals Wellington Phoenix scored in the A-League this season. While Roy has scored 18 goals in 26 appearances, David has managed 11 goals in 26 games.
The 31-year-old Australian has a wealth of experience in the A-League with Queensland Roar, North Queensland Fury and Melbourne City. The forward also had a brief stint in Europe with the Danish club Brøndby and the Hungarian club Szombathelyi Haladás before making his way back down under for the 2018-19 season with Wellington Phoenix.
With 18 goals from 18 matches, ATK were the second lowest-scoring team in the ISL 2018-19 season. The double coup pretty much means they’ve replaced their forward line with the Phoenixes’ and it looks like they’ve tackled the goal-scoring problem – at least on paper.
I am absolutely delighted that I will be able to play alongside my friend Roy Krishna.
Hopefully, together as a team, we will be able to win the title and create memories.
David Williams
