Looks like there’s a firesale going on at Pune and Mumbai City FC were first to it. The club has completed the signings of Brazilian winger Diego Carlos and defender Sarthak Golui from FC Pune City.
The 31-year-old Brazilian winger looked sprightly whenever he did make an appearance for the Stallions and has two goals and an assist in the 2018-19 ISL.
A Flamengo youth product, Diego spent most of his career playing in the Russian Premier League with FC Ufa. When he moved to FC Pune City for the 2017-18 season, the winger featured heavily in Pune City’s run into the semi-final play-offs.
However, in the 2018-19 season, he found game time hard to come by and was restricted to nine appearances. The move to neighbouring Mumbai should provide a fresh challenge to the Brazilian.
The 21-year-old AIFF Elite Academy graduate has shown much promise in his two seasons with FC Pune City and has featured 27 times for the Stallions in the ISL.
Sarthak made his club debut with Mohun Bagan in the I-League in January, 2016 and has represented India at the U-16, U-19 and U-23 level.
Highly rated by his peers and coaches, the young fullback’s offensive game is much more developed than his defensive side and the move to Mumbai City should help Golui become a more well-rounded player.
