Jamshedpur FC: Francisco Medina Luna signs for the club while Mario Arqués leaves for Kerala Blasters

Jamshedpur FC have announced the signing of Spanish attacking midfielder Francisco Medina Luna (Piti); meanwhile, the Spanish midfielder Mario Arqués has made his way to Kerala Blasters.

The 38-year-old “Piti” as he is widely known joins Jamshedpur FC from the Greek club PAS Lamia. Piti spent most of his career at Spanish clubs Rayo Vallecano and Granada in the Segunda Division and the top flight La Liga.

At the age of 35, Piti moved abroad to Greece and turned up for Cypriot-based AEL Limassol followed by PAS Lamia – from where he joins Jamshedpur FC.

Luna has a pretty decent record in La Liga with 149 appearances yielding 29 goals and 14 assists.

Mario Arqués

Eelco Schattorie’s first signing after taking over the helm at Kerala Blasters is the Jamshedpur FC midfielder Mario Arqués.

A product of the Villarreal CF academy, Mario impressed in the recently concluded Indian Super League season although Jamshedpur finished just outside the play-off positions. The 27-year-old won plaudits for his range of passing and notched up three goals and two assists during the season.

Mario is widely expected to partner with Sahal Abdul Samad in midfield for the upcoming season.
