The AIFF has suspended Zakeer Mundampara (Kerala Blasters), Mailson Alves (Chennaiyin FC) and Carlos Calvo (Jamshedpur FC) for breaching the AIFF code of conduct.

Zakeer Mundampara has been given an unprecedented six-month ban after an incident in Kerala’s game against Mumbai City FC. After a second yellow was shown to Zakeer, he threw the ball on the referee Umesh Bora’s face and allegedly used abusive language.

Mailson Alves and Carlos Calvo have been suspended for three games and fined two lakh rupees each. Mailson was in line for suspension after elbowing a Delhi Dynamos player in December 2018 when Chennaiyin hosted the Delhi side. Carlos Calvo was suspended for allegedly spewing out racial abuse in Jamshedpur’s game against Delhi Dynamos.
