Following Aizawl FC’s loss against Indian Arrows on the Jan. 5, sources suggest that Gift Raikhan has submitted his resignation to the Aizawl FC management team.
The manager sounded distraught after his team’s narrow defeat against Indian Arrows.
“I will speak to the management. I don’t care about my salary or my reputation, I only care for the progress of the club. I have accepted that my philosophy did not work in the club, maybe they need a new coach. If we continue like this, we may relegate but I don’t want the club to relegate because of me or the players.”
He went on to add:
“I don’t know what is happening with my team. As a coach, maybe I am not fit to be the coach of Aizawl FC.”
Gift Raikhan previously managed NEROCA FC before signing for the People’s Club this year. With half the season complete, Aizawl FC find themselves in 10th position in the league with two wins out of 11.
