Pre-Match: All Things Considered

Bengaluru FC

-The front three of Bengaluru FC – Sunil Chhetri, Miku and Udanta Singh are quick, tricky and have scored lots of goals between them in the last ISL season. On their day which is most days than not, they can tear apart any defence.

-Both teams will be confident coming into this fixture on the back of their opening victories (Bengaluru won 1-0 against Chennaiyin in their opening ISL fixture).

-Dimas Delgado is fit again and available for selection.

-West Block Blues: For the opening fixture, the attendance was 20,786. The massive home support and the buzz around the stadium should give the home side a lot of encouragement.

-Head to Head Record: They’ve only played each other in last year’s ISL season.

Jamshedpur FC

-The former Atletico Madrid coach Cesar Ferrando got his tactics spot on as Jamshedpur made light work of Mumbai FC in their opening ISL fixture (Mumbai FC lost 0-2 at home).

-Tim Cahill will make his much anticipated ISL debut today. Either Serran or Juanan will have to do a man-marking job on him.

-As seen in their opening match, Jamshedpur are playing possession style football similar to Bengaluru FC. This could be an interesting clash of philosophies.

-Carlos Calvo will look to turn Bengaluru FC right-back Rahul Bheke inside out in today’s game. Bheke had a dismal game in Bengaluru FC’s opening fixture against Chennaiyin and was either AWOL with his positioning or indulged in ghost clearances ( a la “The Next Karate Kid”).

-Subrata Paul is a miss for Jamshedpur FC today as he is serving a three-match suspension.
