NorthEast United FC completed the signing of Uruguayan striker Juan Cruz Mascia for the upcoming 2018-19 Hero Indian Super League season.
Juan represented Uruguay in the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup and in the 2011 South American Under-17 Football Championship. Following his success in these tournaments, he drew comparisons to Diego Forlan in the English and South American media. Diego Forlan professed to being a keen admirer of the player and arranged a training session for him at Atletico Madrid.
Juan Cruz Mascia played a large part of his club football with Uruguayan top division club Nacional before turning up for Plaza Colonia (Uruguayan top division club) last season.
The striker is only 24 years old and has bags of potential and could prove to be a very astute signing for NorthEast United FC.
