
With FPAI requesting AIFF for representation at its AGM on December 20, the AIFF has instead decided to form its own players, coaches and referees associations and has invited applications.
Football Players Association of India (FPAI) founded in 2006 in Kolkata currently represents 550 players, coaches etc. and has been asking AIFF for them to the be the de facto National Players Association. They are also a permanent member of FIFPRO, the world players union which only allows one association per country.

AIFF Note
Reference to Schedule IV of the Constitution of the All India Football Federation, the AIFF has opened registration for individuals eligible to apply for memberships in the National Referees’ Association (NRA), the National Coaches’ Association (NCA), and the National Players’ Association (NPA).
