MAHABALIPURAM: Minerva Academy FC were crowned champions of the AIFF Sub Junior League 2024-25 after defeating hosts FC Madras 2-1 at the FC Madras Ground, on Monday, May 26, 2025. The winners led 2-0 at half-time.
Minerva Academy completed a memorable campaign in the Sub Junior League, winning eight, while losing only two of their matches. During the course of these 10 matches, they scored a whopping 72 goals, and conceded only six.
Md Musha of Alchemy International FA ended as the top scorer with 29 goals, while Minerva’s Rimson Singh Huidrom was the second highest scorer with 22 goals.
Rimson put Minerva Academy in front, scoring in the second minute, while Takhellambam Lanchenba’s 13th minute own goal doubled the lead for the eventual champions in the final. FC Madras forward Areez Alam A (70+5’) pulled one back in injury time, but it was too late for a comeback.
