Odisha FC have wrapped up a deal for 32-year-old Spanish winger Aridai Cabrera who was playing for UD Las Palmas in La Liga 2 last season.
Up until his move to Odisha FC, Aridai played out his entire career in Spain predominantly in the second and third tier of Spanish football. The right winger was part of the youth team setup at Universidad de Las Palmas CF and made his transition to the reserve team in 2006. In 2007, he was promoted to the senior team and spent the next three seasons playing in the third tier – what was then known as the Segunda División B.
After leaving Universidad LP in 2011, Cabrera turned up for clubs like RCD Mallorca, Girona FC, Real Betis B, Valencia B and Cultural Leonesa among others. He also briefly played in the top-tier La Liga with RCD Mallorca in the 2019-20 season.
Over the last one and a half seasons, the 5’7″ right-footed winger represented UD Las Palmas in La Liga 2. Last season with the club, he featured in 21 matches scoring three goals and assisting two. Overall in his professional club career in Spain, he has made 403 appearances in which he has scored 81 goals and assisted 12.
