
Gokulam Kerala FC have announced the appointment of Vincenzo Alberto Annese as their new head coach to replace the outgoing Fernando Santiago Varela.
The 35-year-old Italian holds a UEFA Pro Licence and was the manager of the Belize National Football Team prior to joining the Malabarians.
After a brief career as a player in Italian club football, Annese took to coaching early in his career at the age of 23. His professional career as a head coach started with Italian fourth division club (Serie D) Fidelis Andria in 2010 where he was in charge of the youth teams. Since then, Vincenzo has managed clubs in Estonia, Latvia, Ghana, Palestine, Indonesia and Kosovo.
At the international level, Annese has managed the Armenian U-19 team and more recently the Central American nation Belize from where he joins Gokulam Kerala FC.

Vincenzo will replace Fernando Santiago Varela who left the club recently. Under Varela, GKFC won the Kerala Premier League in 2017-18 and the prestigious Durand Cup last year. Annese’s first assignment will be the I-League 2020-21 season which is expected to start in November in Kolkata.
