Mohammedan SC have appointed 27-year-old Punjab FC manager Yan Law as their head coach.

The youngest AFC A license holder in Indian football, Law was previously a coach at Punjab FC who finished third in the 2019-20 I-League. Law also led Punjab FC to the Punjab State Super Football League title in 2019.

Hailing from a Chinese immigrant family (his great grandfather immigrated to Kolkata), Yan has represented the Indian U-19 team and also turned up for George Telegraph in the Calcutta Football League (CFL).

At the age of 18, Law procured his AIFF D license and went onto be an assistant coach for the West Bengal Santosh Trophy team and was also a youth coach at Mohammedan SC.

I greatly appreciate the opportunity to work as Head Coach of Mohammedan Sporting Club.

It is my sincere hope and desire that I can repay the faith the club has shown in me.

Yan Law

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Yan to Mohammedan SC. He brings with him a wealth of experience and professionalism.

It is our desire that the club goes back to its former glory and in Yan we believe that we have someone who can achieve that.

Wasim Akram, General Secretary, Mohammedan SC

Mohammedan SC were competing in the 2nd Division League when the tournament was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A truncated version of the tournament will likely be held in September 2020 and Law will be taking charge of the historic club as they push for promotion to the I-League.
