EXPECTED GOALS [xG]

xG Analysis by Amrit
- Started out as an interesting tactical battle between two good sides.
- ATK did really well to close down spaces and Jamshedpur found it hard to break the lines.
- As a result, lot of meaningless possession in the 1st half for JFC Piti going off injured didn’t help
- Piti going off injured didn’t help.
- At HT it felt like this game would be decided by a mistake or a set piece and instead we got a combination of both with 3 penalties.
- 2nd half was a counter attacking masterclass from ATK.
TALKING POINTS
Roy Krishna’s virtuoso performance propels ATK to a win over Jamshedpur FC and to the top of the table at the end of round 4 of the ISL.
- Both teams began the match with ample quality on display – David Williams and the ATK press troubling Jamshedpur while Piti turned on the style until he hobbled off in the 38th minute.
- The injury to Jamshedpur’s most influential player could not have come at a better time as the teams go into the international break. Piti is expected to recover in three weeks.
- The ATK custodian Arindam had precious little to do for most of the match as Jamshedpur struggled to break down ATK while the Kolkata club broke on the counter to devastating effect.
- Roy Krishna and David Williams co-ordination on the pitch feels telepathic and ATK’s title hopes rest on the duo.
