EXPECTED GOALS [xG]

Plenty of chances created but bulk were from outside the box in low value zones.
They still constructed a skyscraper in each half but service into the box was generally poor.
Other than the 20 odd mins that Udanta turned into Bale, we didn’t even look threatening.
And even then, he was usually left isolated with no option in the box.”
HIGHLIGHTS
CONCLUSION
A absolute blinder of a performance by the captain on the night Gurpreet Singh Sandhu coupled with excellent performances by the centre-back duo of Adil Khan and Sandesh Jhingan helped India bring home a precious point against reigning Asian Champions Qatar.
- Gurpreet Singh Sandhu saved 11 out of the 13 shots on target.
- The centre-back pairing did not allow Qatar to shoot or pass through the middle in advanced areas; they were forced to go into wide areas and they took quite a lot of shots from distance.
- India tried to play out from the back, but were dispossessed frequently the moment they got close to midfield.
- A great result from the team also considering the fact Sunil Chhetri was unavailable.
- Qatar have scored against everyone except Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and India this year.
